Veterans and their survivors will see a cost of living adjustment (COLA) increase in their compensation and pension payment rates of 1.7% effective December 1, 2012.  This increase is the first compensation and pension payment increase since 2009.  The increase will be reflected in the January, 2013 checks which will be issued on December 31, 2012.  However, retirees who left the military in 2012 and those who took the REDUX retirement package will not see the full 1.7 percent increase next year.  If you have questions regarding the VA benefits and this increase, and how it may impact your personal situation, please contact us.
